Biography
Tannous is a contemporary visual artist based in Canada. He was born in Byblos, Lebanon where he obtained a superior diploma from the National Institute of Fine Arts at the Lebanese University. Soon after graduation, he became an art professor at the university. In 1976, to escape from the turmoil of the civil war in Lebanon, Tannous moved to Paris where he lived for over 30 years and established himself as a great artist. He obtained a certificate from the," Commission de la professionnalité des artistes graphiques,plastiques et travailleurs intellectuels,"proving him to be a professional artist and became a member of La Maison des Artistes, the most important artist association in France. He exhibited around Europe, Japan and the USA, and collaborated with a number of high-end private corporations (Karstardt,Cartier, Porsche...) public organizations, and international art fairs. In Paris, he founded a number of artist associations and opened his own art gallery. He painted the portraits of various important people, such as the American president, Jimmy Carter. His most notable accomplishment is his epoxy-varnish, which he patented in Germany. In 2002, Tannous moved to Montreal, Canada with his family, where he owns his own gallery and offers classes to artists interested in learning his technique.

- 2012 End of february, Tannous is back to Shanghai for the exhibition of his works, from March 3 until March 31, at mogashan Road, Shanghai where his sponsor booked a gallery.
